On February 9, the RA NA Vice President Lena Nazaryan met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Armenia Fan Yong.

The Vice President congratulated the Ambassador on assuming the post. The sides touched upon the war unleashed against Artsakh, the signed tripartite statement, highlighting the implementation of its provisions. Lena Nazaryan stressed the issue of the urgency of the return of the Armenian prisoners of war from Azerbaijan. In his turn the Ambassador Fan Yong emphasized the establishment of the ceasefire and expressed hope that the unsolved problems will be settled.

They discussed the launch of the RA-China direct flight and the implementation of joint programmes in several spheres. Despite the pandemic the relations between the two countries had been maintained, and even a growth had been registered in the trade-economic sector: the trade turnover had increased almost by one billion dollars.
